In this Eligibility Specialist role, you will be an integral part of the Operational team, responsible for conducing initial intakes, orientations, and/or informational sessions for potential participants. In this role, you will be responsible for completing the intake process and performing quality control to ensure that eligibility documentation is complete. This role requires that you disseminate labor market information and information regarding Workforce Development Services, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Food Stamp Employment and Training (FSET), Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA), Child Care and Development, Job Cops, Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA), Unemployment Insurance and supportive services as needed. You will also be responsible for interviewing and assessing each participant to gather information on their education, background, prior work experience, skills, interests, and short/long term employment goals for the purpose of determining suitability for enrollment.


In this role you will:
• Monitor performance reports to ensure all services and data entry are entered timely and accurately
• Create and maintain program participant files with up-to-date documentation as required by program regulations and local policies and procedures
• Ensure case notes are entered in the identified operating system to reflect service delivery
• Ensure all participant updates are entered in the appropriate application the same day in accordance with program regulations, policies, and procedures

• Explain program services and expectations and collect and maintain applicants’ eligibility documents
• Refer participants to partner programs for alternative services


You are a self-motivated and flexible team player. You consider yourself to have strong computer, conflict resolution, and communication skills. You have experience in interviewing and employment counseling. You take pride in your understanding and awareness of the needs of disadvantaged individuals and other persons who face barriers to employment. You have in-depth knowledge of eligibility criteria and public employment and training programs. You have a high school diploma or GED and are ready to make an impact.
