The Director, Nurse Consulting Services has overall management responsibilities for the nurse consulting team. He/She has responsibility for all new and existing nurse training and education activities. The Director works with other department personnel at a strategic level to communicate, create, and finalize field service activities. Critical to this process is a clear understanding of the customer’s unique needs and our ability to communicate internally the nuances associated with servicing each customer.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Nursing Management in a long term care or skilled nursing environment.


  • Overall management responsibility for the team and oversight of all nurse consulting services for existing customers.
  • Manage activities and resources among the department as they conduct all new nurse consulting
  • Act as the Customers contact and liaison between the customer’s new internal contacts including: Pharmacy director, Consulting Pharmacist, Account Managers, Billing Office, Medical Records, and Nurse Consulting Services team
  • Identify and manage any “gaps” between actual delivery and customer expectations, develop escalation pathways to communicate and resolve problems
  • Develop service metrics and reports that provide senior management insight into the customer experience and identify potential issues
  • Work in consultative role with internal departments to develop and communicate nurse consulting services processes
  • Provide or facilitate all customer trainings and in-services
  • Act as customer advocate during the implementation process and delivery of all PharMerica trainings and services
  • Provide metrics enforcement while developing and attaining corporate, department, and personal goals
  • Performs other tasks as assigned

Education/Learning Experience

  • Required: BA/BS or equivalent experienc

Work Experience

  • Required: Pharmacy, Nursing or Customer Service experience required.
  • Desired: Preferred experience in Long Term Care setting; Previous field service, supervisory experience, and/or project management experience is desired.


  • Required: Ability to professionally communicate contracted customer goals and directives to defined team members; Excellent communication and customer relationship skills; Technologically savvy & intermediate or above computer skills; Familiarity with managing with metrics; Familiarity with P& L
