In this Business Services Consultant role, you will be an integral part of the Operational team, responsible for working with businesses to identify job openings, alternative work activities, and training initiatives. In this role, it is integral that you establish rapport with area businesses and maintain ongoing relationships with businesses as you will need to enlist their help to increase awareness of available workforce services in the community. You will continuously review business opportunities and contact new employees to market Center services. This position arranges for employers to speak to candidates about employment and employer expectations and maintains follow-up contact with employers to determine satisfaction with services and plan for quality improvement. You will support employers by assisting with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring qualified applicants. In this role, you will also assist with setting up for job fairs and employer hiring events and may be asked on occasion to work outside of normal business hours for events and/or to meet deadlines.
In this role you will:
• Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of the local labor market
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable culture while promoting the company mission, vision, values, and brand
• Keep project staff apprised of local business needs and job placement opportunities
• Work with case management staff to facilitate job placements
• Enter employer information into all appropriate databases and monitors employer activities
You are a self-motivated and flexible team player. You consider yourself to have strong organizational, interpersonal, and both verbal and written communication skills. You take pride in your presentation skills as well as your friendly and professional demeanor. You have familiarity with the communities being served and understand local needs and resources desired by the customer. You also have knowledge and understanding of labor market trends. You have a bachelor’s degree or higher and/or 2 years of experience in business-to-business sales, marketing, customer service, staffing or recruiting and are ready to make an impact. A valid driver’s license and automobile insurance is required.
