The Next program is a one stop service center for youth to provide education and employment training.

At Next, we help young people ages 16-24 get set for success by providing the holistic support and training they need to create the future they want all in one place.

Next provides opportunity to youth in the area served with a safe space to connect, socialize get something to eat or access health services, and find help with education and careers.

Young adults want to succeed in their careers and their lives. Yet, many young people may not have a clear pathway to work, training or post-secondary education, even if they have their high school diploma.

Essential Responsibilities

The Youth Director is charged with coordinating the service delivery among partner agencies within Next, as well as being responsible for overseeing all operational needs and ensuring that the system and its partners are in alignment with the Next Strategic Plan. 

  • Manage daily operations in coordination with the local Workforce Investment Board to ensure that all program participants have access to all available services
  • Be responsible for ensuring that all services are streamlined and accessible for youth ages 16-24 years old
  • Manage partner relationships and responsibilities defined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
  • Report to the Local Workforce Development Board on operations, performance and continuous improvement recommendations
  • Implement the Local Workforce Development Board Policy and adhere to all federal and state regulations and policies
  • Act as a functional leader to all center staff and provides constructive feedback to team staff regarding their duties along with updates back to the staff members employer of record
  • Facilitate communication among the other functional leaders and teams at Next
  • Report to Local Workforce Development Board on operations, performance and continuous improvement recommendations
  • Maintain and update the Next Operations manual, as needed
  • Identify and facilitate the timely resolution of complaints, problems, and other issues
  • Oversee all facilities and operational needs, including hours of operation, inclement closures
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor of science/Bachelor of art in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Project Management, or closely related field of study
  • Operational leadership experience with a minimum of three years professional experience organizing, planning, and developing programs and services at a management level, including supervision of others. Senior-level management experience managing multiple departments/functions/teams, with direct responsibility to executive leadership or a board of directors strongly desired. Or An equivalent combination of education, experience and demonstrated results as determined appropriate for the specific opportunity by the hiring manager. 
  • At least two years of experience providing operational oversight in a workforce development environment desired, but not required
  • Experience in public speaking
  • Intermediate level microsoft Office Skills
  • Proof of valid drivers license and liability insurance may be required 
  • Fiscal / financial management experience, operational oversight, and experience managing grants and/or contracts
  • Proven ability to manage contractual relationships
