• Helps manage staff appropriately and sets clear expectations for performance.
• Work directly with Supervisor to develop audit criteria for productivity/accuracy metrics related to all pre-billing and reporting review.
• Prioritize and delegate job tasks to ensure timely completion.
• Support and manage business policies and procedures to maintain workflow standards.
• Conduct routine meetings with Supervisor and staff to review current state and engage all staff in discussion for improvement.
• Audit billing functions regularly for compliance to policies, procedures, and contract and government regulations.
• Assist Supervisor in overseeing daily billing activities per policies and procedures when necessary.
• Address performance and/or business issues while keeping direct manager informed.
• Participate on various billing specific sub-groups to identify all attributes for best practice implementation and influence development of policies and procedures as well as identify appropriate training material and educational opportunities.
• Ensure appropriate, timely and professional communications occurs with implementation team, Account Management team, Community staff as needed.
• Work and partner with other internal departments.
• Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA.
• Participate in projects and/or management meetings.
• Through interim statement review on a monthly basis, ensures charges are accurate.
• Reviews Community/resident bills and resolves any erroneous charges by adding and removing as necessary, and documenting in the client file with notes.
• Reviews and reconciles billing statements with private financial plans.
• Responds to Community/Resident disputes over billing of services.
• Works with responsible parties, receiving in/out bound telephone calls, providing customer service through explaining why they are being billed.
• Works with Client Billing Coordinator/Supervisor in researching pharmacy accounts requiring special attention.
• Help maintain new communities onboarding and master contact sheet, by utilizing QuickBase to track and load information.
• High School Diploma/GED required
• Kentucky Pharmacy Tech License preferred
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to prioritize and meet pre-determined deadlines.
• Must be able to effectively multi-task, be proficient at typing, and have advanced technical skills.
• Experience in healthcare billing environment (pharmacy preferred)
• Familiarization with on-line claims processing and Medicaid and Medicare billing practices.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word & Excel required.
