Overview

Oversees the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations related to patient care, staffing, quality assurance, and other aspects of home health operations. Continuously monitors regulatory changes and assesses the agency’s compliance with those changes, taking necessary action to address any issues. Interacts with regulatory agencies, such as CMS or state health departments, to address questions or concerns. Plays a crucial role in training staff on regulatory requirements and best practices to maintain compliance. Assists the Governing Body and the Clinical Practice & Quality team with oversight of the organization’s QAPI Program.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitors and interprets regulatory changes, trends, and guidance from relevant agencies (e.g., CMS, state health departments).
  • Oversees the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Provides ongoing training to staff on regulatory requirements.
  • Assists the home health agencies with preparing for, and participates in, regulatory surveys and audits.
  • Assists agency leaders with the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Assists with the implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided.
  • Communicates regulatory updates and compliance requirements to staff and management.
  • Communicates with agency leaders and internal departments to maintain licensure, accreditation, and Medicare/Medicaid provider enrollment, including changes in leadership and practice locations.
  • Completes and submits annual reports to the State, where required.
  • Ensures compliance with home health quality reporting requirements (e.g., HHCAHPS, OASIS).
  • Assists the clinical education team with ensuring staff receive appropriate orientation and ongoing education as required by regulations, and the organization’s policies and procedures.
     

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Minimum of two (2) years of administrative experience in a health care environment, preferably in home health.
  • Must have an active and unrestricted driver’s license with appropriate auto insurance. May be required to travel to another agency or training location periodically.
  • Sound knowledge of the framework, organization, and function of home health.
  • Strong understanding of relevant regulations and standards, including CMS regulations for home health agencies.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer) with the ability to learn industry specific software applications
  • Solid organizational skills, thoroughness, and a keen attention to detail with the ability to multi-task while prioritizing effectively
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Travel up to 25%
