Overview

The Revenue Cycle Liaison serves as a strategic partner across revenue cycle operations, connecting internal teams and vendors to drive performance, compliance, and continuous improvement. This role leads vendor relationship management, monitors service validation processes and operational trends, and collaborates with operations, finance, procurement, and support teams to reduce revenue risk, strengthen process consistency, and support effective revenue cycle outcomes via SVP and use of other tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with vendors and outsourcing partners. Ensure quarterly business reviews are performed and meet internal customer needs.
  • Monitor vendor performance via KPI and SLA compliance, while identifying strategic improvements.
  • Provides weekly/monthly SVP reviews with operations leaders and facilitates training on SVP processes for employees new to role to minimize revenue at risk due to missing authorization or eligibility.
  • Responsible for close activities regarding SVP and ensuring the operations team is fully aware of the SVP allowances or pick-ups for the month end.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to resolve operational SVP issues before they become escalated. Ensures the use and distribution of appropriate revenue reports to ensure eligibility and service authorizations are maintained to avoid interruption in services or payment.
  • Identifies trends in denials, rejections, eligibility results.
  • Assists in the development of business function deficiency action plans and implement as necessary.
  • Foster strong relationships and collaboration with operations, business centers, revenue cycle support teams, and procurement.
  • Act as a liaison between operational, financial, and technical teams to ensure alignment and effective revenue cycle operations.
  • Support roll-out, integration, and functionality of revenue cycle software and tools including tactics to improve the patient billing and collection experience.
  • Partners with finance and accounting support team members with special projects.
  • Completes and submits a workflow update to direct supervisor as required.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and standards of ethical conduct.
  • Maintains professional/ technical competencies and proficiencies for the job responsibilities.
  • Complies with all company policies, procedures, rules, and standards.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent work experience in Revenue Cycle.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a healthcare business environment is required.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory preferred
  • Experience with healthcare billing requirements and accounts receivable management for non-acute provider services preferred.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to analyze reports and identify gaps/inefficiencies/problems which could impact the business.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead by example and uphold and promote the culture, mission, and values of the company.
  • Ability to lead and perform all job duties with a friendly, positive, team-oriented approach.
  • Proven understanding of denials and the ability to identify processes that can positively impact outcomes.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and initiatives.
  • 10-25% Travel required
