Overview

Private Duty LPN – Evening Shift – Hixson, TN

 

Overview:
We’re seeking a Private Duty LPN to provide compassionate, one-on-one in-home care for a 12-year-old female in Hixson, TN. This role is perfect for an LPN looking for a steady evening schedule while making a meaningful impact in a patient’s life.

 

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday
  • 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Location: Hixson, TN

 

Patient Needs:

  • Skilled assessments
  • G-tube dependency & care (G-tube for medications, J-tube for feedings)
  • Enteral feedings
  • Medication management
  • VP Shunt care
  • Dysphagia support

Requirements:

  • LPN license (active & in good standing)
  • Non-smoker due to patient needs
  • Experience with G-tube/J-tube, enteral feedings, and medication management preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform selected nursing procedures within the scope of LPN practice
• Provide patient and family education according to plan as outlined by the RN
• Monitor patient’s vital signs and make specific measurements and observations
• Monitor and record intake and output, and report significant changes immediately
• Observe, assess and record patient’s physical and mental condition and report any changes
• Administer medications as instructed and ordered by the physician and instructed by the RN
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service education programs, as assigned

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in good standing
• Previous home health, private duty, skilled nursing or hospital experience preferred
• Ability to build rapport with patients and family members
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Reliable transportation or valid driver’s license with current automobile insurance
