Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities/Job Duties:

  • Provide Organizational Development support and facilitate implementation of company-wide and line of business initiatives in human resources, compliance, training and labor relations. 
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of employee integration and development for newly acquired business through mergers & acquisitions and other site-specific HR support as needed. 
  • Provide analytical reporting for multiple programs and projects, including grants and SEIU state requirements.
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc assignments.
  • Serve as the Leave of Absence Coordinator administering Leave requests and maintaining compliance with the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and company policy.
  • Liaison with collective bargaining units in the areas of union-sponsored health, leave and retirement benefit programs, as well as managing grievance procedures to handle complaints from unionized employees and advising the human resource staff to ensure compliance with the contract.
  • Support line of business Human Resource Director, Managers and Specialists. 
  • This position will also support day-to-day business requests as needed.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Certification:

  • Associates degree in human resources, organizational development, business management, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years previous HR experience; benefits and leave, including regulatory leave and accommodations, background preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Business Knowledge:  Working knowledge of human resources. Understanding of human services industry valued.
  • Teamwork:  Works well collaboratively within own group and cross functionally to achieve goals.
  • Problem Solving:  Responds appropriately to problems and challenges.  Uses good judgment in difficult situations.  Understands and considers short- and long-term impact of decisions.  Capacity to solve problems independently and as a member of a team.
  • Computer Skills:  Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent presentation/facilitation, organizational, analytical and written/oral communication skills.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and travel up to 10% across multiple states.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to easily maintain several projects and priorities concurrently.
