Overview

The Senior Manager of Sales Learning & Development drives sales results by creating and delivering training and development strategies that align with company goals. This role is strategic and consultative in nature, requiring strong interpersonal and leadership skills to support the sales team development and production at all levels of the sales organization. This role promotes successful execution of organizational change and advancements, consistently adapting strategy to changing needs. This role will develop and lead the sales continuous learning & development programs. Training sessions are customized to various learning styles in consideration of adult learning principles and strategies to facilitate knowledge retention and application.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes procedures and guidelines for assessing quality of training, and makes adjustment if standards are not met or knowledge gaps are identified
  • Owns training and development strategy from beginning to end as creator, coach, trainer, leader, strategist, adaptor, and often subject matter expert
  • Owns scheduling, planning and facilitation of all Sales Training classes
  • Creates practices to identify successful materials and styles of training to meet needs and improve future training effectiveness
  • Plans, develops, conducts, and refines sales onboarding programs to increase sales new hire production and speed to production within the first year in the role through development and continuous execution of a comprehensive onboarding process
  • Travels alongside field sales employees to assess competency; identifies area of improvement and additional training needs
  • Manages a multi-pronged, blended learning approach to onboarding through self-directed learning resources and process guidance, videos, instructor-led engagement sessions (in person and remote), in-the-field shadowing assignments and resources, territory management planning and application, and in-the-field mentorship
  • Aligns proper workflow of responsibilities, timing, communication, and resources to ensure a positive, consistent onboarding experience using a role-based approach
  • This person builds solutions to enhance the employee experience from the ground up and promotes employee retention
  • Assesses onboarding progression through leading consistent onboarding team communication and driving execution of onboarding milestone and competency assessments (in collaboration with VPs of sales and new hire mentors)
  • This person ensures successful execution of onboarding strategy to align with company goal obtainment
  • Develops, executes, and evaluates a sales new hire mentoring program
  • The goal of this program is to accelerate the effectiveness of recent territory realignments and investments in Account Executive (AE) team members
  • This role ensures each of the Account Executives are rapidly trained, tested, and can engage with our prospective clients, delivering our value proposition, and obtaining revenue growth goals
  • Provides training and mentoring with the regional RDS and sales managers to speed up the learning curve and enforce management strategy and routine as well as coaching and leadership skills
  • Serves as subject matter expert in delivering content around key sales skills and focus areas such as sales process, pre-call planning, prospecting, qualification, discovery, financial discovery, presentation, financial positioning, contract negotiation, territory management, CRM application, and sales coaching
  • Manages and routinely updates an assortment of online sales content resources
  • Partners with marketing in rolling out training for key company initiatives, service offerings and new marketing resources
  • Serves as an interdepartmental liaison in communicating and bridging the gap between various internal stakeholders and sales
  • Develops collaborative relationships and consistent communication with leaders, subject matter experts, and team members across the company to ensure training strategy aligns with business goals and objectives
  • Promotes a positive learning culture by embedding learning initiatives into wider team support structures, communication cadence, resourcing, and continuous engagement across the leadership team

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in communications or related area, required.
• At least two years of experience in training, required.
• Clinical background in healthcare desired.
• 5 years of Home Infusion pharmacy, home health, home cares sale or sales training experience, preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company product codes and terminology • Thorough understanding of the Sales department policies and procedures.
• Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to the Sales department.
• Ability to create engaging training content and deliver effective presentations, with strong facilitation and coaching skills.
• An ability to work well independently and with confidence in an evolving, complex environment, but also be able to perform effectively in a team setting.
• Proficient with basic computer programs such as MS Office and Salesforce.com to communicate with other teams in the company and create documents, reports and presentations targeted at appropriate levels of organization for subject matter Required Education and Experience

Percentage of Travel: 25-75%

**To perform this role will require frequently sitting, standing and typing on a keyboard with fingers, and occasionally walking. The physical requirements with be the ability to push/pull and lift/carry 21-30 lbs**
