The Foster Care Supervisor is responsible for actions, decisions, and performances within the regional program. The Foster Care Supervisor is responsible for the care and protection of all the children residing in StepStone Family and Youth Services homes in his or her region. He or she is responsible for hiring, training and supervising staff. He or she is responsible for the efficient management of the financial and physical resources of the regional offices. The Regional Director is responsible for the quality assurance within the region. He or she works with treatment staff to monitor the program’s effectiveness with children and families with a variety of social, psychological, and medical needs. The Foster Care Supervisor maintains a 24-hour on-call support system for the foster children, foster parents, and biological families. The Foster Care Supervisor communicates frequently with the public agency to assure that optimum services are provided to the child and his or her family in accordance with the public agency’s case plan and expectations. He or she participates in meetings with public agency representatives, biological parents, foster parents, foster children, and other interested parties and agencies to access ongoing needs and expected outcomes of children in out-of-home placements. The Foster Care Supervisor provides feedback on service delivery, quality, and needs to the Program Manager and Executive Director. The Foster Care Supervisor provides the Program Manager and Executive Director a quarterly service review.
The Foster Care Supervisor works effectively with county and stare workers. Foster parents, bio-parents, and other behavioral and mental health professionals. He or she is the role model for positive, productive, cooperative relationships.
