As an Intern for the Communications Department, you will have the opportunity to learn fundamental communications skills and oversee key departmental projects. In addition, learn how to work in a professional environment and have ample opportunity to network with department leaders and other professionals.
• Act as a BrightSpring brand ambassador, assist with development of creative concepts and communications strategies to support the organization
• Provide competitive research and analysis support
• Create fliers and graphics for internal use
• Assist with media monitoring and sorting news reports
• Source, evaluate and test new communications channels
• Assist with proofreading and/or copyediting for organizational materials as requested
• Assist with the maintenance of communications systems and databases
• Support day-to-day marketing and communications requests as needed
Education, Experience and Certification
• Must have or be seeking a degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field
• Interest in a communications-related career and additional formal knowledge such as previous course work, internships with PR firms, or work with professional communications departments and teams are highly desired
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of brand significance and brand management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and knowledge of graphic design software
• Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite (i.e., Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) a plus
• Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to easily maintain several projects at once
• Excellent proofreading abilities – knowledge of AP Style a plus
• Knowledge of Google Analytics a plus
