Overview

To preserve family units by providing support and a wide variety of services through assessment and strength building. Preservation services are conducted in the home which promote child safety, reinforce family structure, and development. 

Responsibilities

  • Advocating for client families regarding needs and that contribute to their success
  • Compiling reports and assessments that fulfill contract requirements and agency policies
  • Maintaining compliance of client family files, which include service documents, reports, assessments, and other related documentation as necessary
  • Participating in regular scheduled supervision and agency staff meetings
  • Demonstrating knowledge on cultural awareness and applies sensitivity when working with families
  • Developing an Initial Assessment Report and Plan of Service Report for client families, which outlines strengths, needs, and recommendations
  • Collaborating with Department of Child Safety regarding family status and goals and to confirm services at met during required time frames
  • Conducting monitoring home visits in accordance with program guidelines
  • Educating client families on education, development, to successfully achieve goals
  • Transporting the client family as necessary
  • Providing crisis intervention to families needing behavioral and/or emergency support
  • Participating in Child and Family Teams, Department of Child Safety appointments, Team Decision Making, school conferences, court dates, as appropriate
  • Following all time lines given by A Place to Call Home and the Department
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding individuals and families with whom you work
  • Maintaining absolute confidentiality of agency staff meetings, administrative communications, agency strategies and agency service trade secrets
  • Abiding by A Place to Call Home policies regarding abuse/neglect
  • Following personnel practices which include but are not limited to:
  • Reporting to work on time as scheduled
  • Abiding by the company’s policies and procedures
  • Refraining from excessive absenteeism
  • Obtaining prior approval by following protocol when over-time or time-off is desired
  • Maintaining a professional relationship with client families and keep a positive customer service attitude while resourcing and providing services
  • Representing the agency and the agency’s best interest in all interactions and communications with families, state employees, and contract entities; in a manner consistent with the agency’s philosophy, directives and established practices.
  • Adapting to every changing and last-minute changes in schedules, job requirements and assignments
  • Seeking or request information about job responsibilities or additional training as needed from the Program Supervisor/ Director and/or administration
  • Continuously evaluate the satisfaction and service delivery, of the individual’s receiving services and strive to maintain or improve current service
  • Contacting the administration immediately with any concerns or problems
  • Performing any additional job duties as requested by administration
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited university or college with two years’ experience working with children and families OR five year’s related experience
  • Maintain flexibility in working hours that allows for early morning, evening, and weekend appointments to accommodate family schedules and meet contractual timelines
  • Must be fingerprinted, granted and able to consistently maintain a Level One clearance from the State of Arizona
  • Able to maintain a clear record through Department of Child Safety Central Registry of any reports of child abuse and neglect
  • Must possess impeccable customer services skills to staff, clients and families and the ability to apply them to any situation without fail
  • Must have the ability to communicate professionally (both orally and in writing) with a variety of professionals, staff, and families
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the learning capacity to learn other applications
  • Must exemplify exceptional time and task management
  • Must complete all paperwork/training prior to service delivery
  • Must have reliable transportation and maintain current vehicle registration and insurance, as well as a valid driver’s license with the state of Arizona
  • Must be able to perform the job’s essential functions required
  • Have a clear pre-employment drug test result, as well as clear random annual drug testing results
