Overview

BrightSpring Health Services is seeking a Corporate Accounting Intern. This internship is a year-round position, 15-30 hours per week (flexibility in scheduling). The intern will assist the Corporate Accounting team to maintain records of routine accounting transactions by preparing and posting journal entries, researching the general ledger, and completing account reconciliations. This position will also assist in the analysis and interpretation of accounting records for use by management and assist in the month end close process.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with account reconciliations, trend analysis, and analyzing for completeness
  • Research information requests and respond to issues involving general ledger accounts
  • Assist with corporate balance sheet accounts and perform analytical reviews of monthly activity
  • Assist in the preparation of corporate schedules for annual audit performed by external auditors
  • Prepare journal entries, generate reports, and participate in related monthly accounting activities to ensure timely ledger close
  • Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures
  • Assist in special projects, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university, majoring in Accounting while maintaining a 3.0 cumulative GPA (4.0 scale)
  • Must have completed introductory accounting courses
  • No prior work experience required
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work in a team oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a timely manner
  • Skilled in reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to utilize new tools and technologies in a rapidly changing environment
